This website was established on United Nations Day, 2005, to promote free communication between the citizens of the world
and refugees living in camps, in detention centers, in prisons, or other marginal situations. Currently, millions of refugees
are living around the world in unsettled circumstances, sometimes in dangerous, unhealthy, or substandard conditions, and
many without the freedom guaranteed them under the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Our Mission
Believing that human contact is the best way to overcome prejudice, fear, and ignorance about different cultures, we have
established this website so that refugees can find friends and supporters around the world, while free citizens can learn
about life in camps and detention centers hidden away out of view.

What this Website Will Do
This website will contain a database of refugees, refugee camps, and ways people can get in touch with one another around
the world - through the internet, through postal mail, even through telephone. We will have to take some steps to guarantee
the safety and privacy of participants, but hopefully this will be a user-friendly and open site.
